Privacy Policy

WedgeWise is a voice-first golf coaching app that runs entirely on your device. This policy explains what data the app uses and where it goes.
Data we collect
None. WedgeWise does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. The app does not request internet access. It works in airplane mode.
Data stored on your device
The following are stored in the app’s private storage on your phone and never leave it:
- Golfer details. Anything you choose to enter in Profile → Golfer details: your name, handicap, age range, sex, handedness, how long you’ve played, swing speed and driver carry, typical miss, goals, practice days and preferred practice time, where you can practice, playing conditions, the clubs and ball you use, and practice preferences. Every field is optional. WedgeWise uses your handicap to highlight your level in the Guide.
- Practice and game history. The drills and games you have completed, used to show your statistics and Short Game Index.
- Settings. Your choices for voice, cue volume, Natural Distances and the other Profile settings.
This data is excluded from Google cloud backup. If you move to a new phone with Android’s device-to-device transfer, it moves with the app. To delete it, open Android Settings → Apps → WedgeWise → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app.
Permissions
WedgeWise requests no permissions. It does not use the microphone, camera, location, contacts or internet access.
Spoken coaching
The coaching you hear comes from audio files included in the app and, where no recording exists, from your phone’s built-in text-to-speech engine. WedgeWise selects only voices that work on the device. No speech or AI service is contacted by the app, and no audio is sent anywhere. WedgeWise does not use speech recognition: nothing you say is listened to, transcribed or analysed.
Third-party services
None. The app uses Android system services and open-source Android libraries (AndroidX/Jetpack and Kotlin). It has no third-party SDKs, no ad networks and no trackers.
Children’s privacy
WedgeWise contains no content inappropriate for children. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If anything here changes, this page will be updated with a new date at the top. A future version that adds voice notes will ask for microphone access only when you record a note. Recordings will stay on your device, and this policy will be updated before that version is released.
