WedgeWise is a voice-first golf coaching app that runs entirely on your device. This policy explains what data the app uses and where it goes.
Data we collect
None. WedgeWise does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. The app has no network code — it works in airplane mode.
Data stored on your device
The following are stored locally on your iPhone and never leave it:
- Practice session history — drills and games you have completed, kept in the app’s on-device storage. You can clear it from the Profile tab.
- Game history — the last 100 games you have played, stored on-device to compute your personal percentile. Automatically capped at 100 games per game type; oldest entries are dropped first.
- Voice settings — your choices for voice gender, playback speed, cue volume, and the Natural Distances toggle.
- Voice notes — recorded on request from the Notes tab. Unlike coaching audio, these recordings are stored on your device (in the app’s Documents folder, which is included if you back up your iPhone) so you can play them back later. They are never transmitted anywhere, never processed by speech recognition or any other service, and never leave your device. Delete any note at any time by swiping it away in the Notes tab; deleting the app deletes all of them.
Permissions the app requests

This is the only permission the app asks for. It is requested the first time you record a note, not on launch, and you can decline it and still use every other feature. You can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings → WedgeWise.
WedgeWise does not use speech recognition. Nothing you say is transcribed, analysed, or matched against commands, and the app does not request the Speech Recognition permission at all.
Spoken coaching
The coaching you hear comes from audio files included in the app, and from the iPhone’s own built-in text-to-speech voice. Both play on the device. No speech or AI service is contacted while the app is running, and no audio is sent anywhere.
Third-party services
None. The app uses only Apple system frameworks. There are no third-party SDKs, no ad networks, and no trackers. Attribution for the tools used to produce the recorded coaching audio is on our licenses page.
Children’s privacy
WedgeWise is rated 4+ and contains no content inappropriate for children. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If anything here changes, this page will be updated with a new date at the top.
