A spoken short-game coach for iPhone. It tells you what to work on and how, out loud, while your hands stay on the club.
Most golf apps want you looking at a screen. WedgeWise talks. You put the phone in your pocket, listen to the cue, hit the shot, and keep going. It covers the five shots that decide your score inside a hundred yards — putting, chipping, pitching, lobs and sand — with 43 scored practice games and a progress measure built from your own sessions.
It needs no account and no connection. The coaching works on a practice green with no signal, in airplane mode, with nothing to sign into — because all of it lives on the phone itself. It is on the App Store now, as a one-time purchase.

The five shots
Putting
Technique, distance control and pressure drills.
Chipping
Contact first, then landing spot and roll-out.

What is in it
Games, not just drills
Scored practice games with targets and points, so a session on the chipping green has a result rather than a vague feeling.
Routines that run themselves
Timed sequences that move you from station to station and tell you when to switch, so you practise the whole short game rather than your favourite part of it.
A real voice
The coaching cues are recorded audio, bundled inside the app rather than streamed. Some shorter prompts are read out by the iPhone’s own built-in voice. Either way it happens on the phone, and no speech service is contacted.
Short Game Index
A single progress figure built from the games you have actually played — overall, recent form, and year on year. Computed on your device from your own history.
Voice notes
Record a thought on the range and play it back later. The recording is saved on your phone and goes nowhere else.
In your pocket
Designed to be used with the phone in a pocket. You should be able to complete a whole session without looking at it.
What WedgeWise does not do
This is the part we care most about, so it is stated plainly.
- No account. There is no sign-up, no login and no password.
- No subscription. You are not renting access to your own practice.
- No connection needed. The app works in airplane mode. There is no network code in it.
- No data collected. No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash telemetry, no profile. Your session history stays on your phone, and deleting the app deletes it.
